Storage Brent Park Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Brent Park in recognition of our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all our relationships, and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not occur within our organisation or in any part of our supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Brent Park adopts a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We do not tolerate any form of exploitation, whether direct or indirect, and we expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, contractors, and business partners. Any indication that a supplier or partner may be involved in, or turning a blind eye to, modern slavery will be treated as a serious breach of our standards and may result in the termination of contracts or relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Brent Park provides storage services and associated facilities to individuals and businesses. Our supply chains include providers of property and facility management, security, cleaning, maintenance, equipment, utilities, and office and technology services. We recognise that certain sectors and geographies carry a higher risk of labour exploitation, and we are committed to identifying and mitigating these risks across all of our procurement and operational activities.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We seek to work only with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to human rights and ethical conduct. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing relationship management, we communicate our expectations regarding labour standards, worker welfare, and compliance with relevant legislation on modern slavery and human trafficking.
Due diligence processes include assessing prospective suppliers for indicators of modern slavery risk, considering the nature of the goods or services being supplied, the country of origin, and the labour practices typically associated with that sector. Where appropriate, we ask suppliers to confirm that they have their own policies and procedures in place to prevent modern slavery and to cascade similar requirements through their own supply chains.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Storage Brent Park conducts proportionate supplier audits and monitoring activities, focusing on suppliers and categories assessed as higher risk. These audits may include reviewing documentation relating to employment practices, health and safety, worker welfare, and subcontracting arrangements. Where necessary and feasible, we may request additional information or conduct site visits to gain assurance regarding working conditions.
Findings from audits are recorded and evaluated. If non-compliance or concerns relating to modern slavery are identified, we will work with the supplier to implement remedial actions within a defined timeframe. Where issues are serious or remain unresolved, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise any concerns they may have about potential modern slavery risks in our business or supply chains. Concerns may relate to suspected forced labour, human trafficking, unfair recruitment practices, debt bondage, or unsafe or degrading working conditions.
Concerns can be reported through internal reporting channels or to a line manager or senior manager. Reports will be treated seriously and, where possible, confidentially. We are committed to ensuring that no one who raises a concern in good faith suffers any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result of speaking up.
Training and Awareness
Storage Brent Park recognises that awareness and understanding are critical in identifying and preventing modern slavery. We aim to provide relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, facilities management, and supplier oversight, with appropriate information on modern slavery risks, warning signs to look for, and the process for reporting concerns.
We also encourage our managers to promote a culture in which ethical behaviour, respect for human rights, and transparency are integral to everyday decision-making and supplier interactions.
Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery and human trafficking rests with the senior management of Storage Brent Park. They are responsible for reviewing the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence processes, and control measures, and for ensuring that any necessary improvements are identified and implemented.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with best practice and legal requirements. As part of the annual review, we consider changes in our business activities, shifts in supply chain risk, insights from audits and reports, and feedback from employees and stakeholders. Where appropriate, we will enhance our procedures, training, and monitoring to strengthen our ongoing efforts to prevent modern slavery in all areas of our operations.
